- My name is Julie and I was born and raised in central Illinois. I was a legal secretary for many years and left the profession to open my first store, Trinkets & Treasures, now located at 120 N. Main, Washington, IL. I became very interested in rug hooking and from that interest, Among Friends was born. AF is now eight years old and has evolved from a rug hooking hobby to a full-blown rug hooking business. I design primitive rugs and projects which I hope you will enjoy hooking as much as I do. I began dyeing wool one year ago and love dyeing as much as designing. I have been doing projects for Create & Decorate magazine for the last 4+ years and hope to continue that relationship far into the future. I keep a booth in Trinkets full of kits, my hand-dyed wool, and patterns. Believe it or not, there is more to my life than wool. It's all the many Shih Tzu that keep me hoppping. If you look down just a little, you will see my princess, Lucy. If you click on Lucy, you will go to the doggie blog. Hope you enjoy seeing all the beautiful dogs in my breeding program and some of the cutest puppies ever.
